Gloria Gelo is a contemporary abstract artist and educator based in Calgary, Alberta. Working between analog and digital processes, she explores the interplay of shape, colour, balance, and composition.
Captivated by nature’s seasonal shifts and organic forms, Gloria works across photography, printmaking, collage, and painting, bringing these techniques together through a layered mixed-media process. Her work is characterized by elegant simplicity, a modern graphic edge, and a sensitive, restrained colour palette inspired by the natural world. Her abstract works balance structure and spontaneity, inviting a closer look and quiet contemplation.
Gloria’s practice continues to evolve, shaped by her interest in design and the possibilities that emerge when different processes and materials come together. Alongside her studio practice, she teaches online courses that encourage artists to explore their own ideas, experiment with process, and develop confidence in their practice.
She studied fine art in Ohio, and her work is collected internationally.
